I could barely understand parts of the voice acting (though they did a good job, the recordings are just too processed), so I missed a lot of what was portrayed story-wise. Is anything explained about why the player character was experimented on? Or what the woman in a dress we see is? Or what happened at the end?

It's a cool ride, but I feel like either the plot or how it was told misses the mark.
