Seemed promising. Launched once after installing and never again. The mouse controls were very unstable, it was almost impossible to fly in the general direction you wanted.

I only played the campaign, but from that side of things, the game was fun. You alternate between rebel and imperial characters through the story, which gives a cool perspective of different events and a variety of game play. I definitely recommend using a joystick for this - I tried at first with keyboard and mouse and hated it, then tried with a joystick and it completely changed the experience!

I bought this game at a heavy discount, which is worth noting because it’s often on sale these days. Keeping that in mind, I think Star Wars: Squadrons is a great modern arcade-style space combat game. While it doesn’t quite reach the heights of the classic Star Wars flight games from the 90s, it comes close and serves as a solid modern interpretation of the genre.

The arcade-style flight model feels fantastic, especially with a joystick. There's solid variety in gameplay thanks to a decent selection of customizable equipment for your spacecraft, including missiles, countermeasures, engines, and more. It gives you plenty of options to tweak your ship to match your playstyle.

The single-player story campaign is good overall, though I feel it could have been a bit longer. That said, it’s a solid, non-Jedi-focused Star Wars story. The narrative explores the galaxy’s chaotic state after Return of the Jedi, with a diverse cast of characters that add depth and personality to the experience.

As for multiplayer, it feels somewhat tacked on. The game received very little post-launch support, and by the time I picked it up, multiplayer wasn’t particularly active. However, the offline practice mode is surprisingly robust, allowing you to spawn enemies from the campaign to fight against, which adds some replayability.

At full price, this might be a harder sell, but with the frequent deep discounts available now, Star Wars: Squadrons is absolutely worth picking up for any fan of space combat games. It succeeds at making you feel like you're really part of an elite fighter squadron in the Star Wars universe.

Never had a problem with any VR game,
But this game outright refuses to start in VR and the "toggle VR" option in-game does nothing.

The verification screen for EA is barely usable, seriously how is this not fixed?

I am doing the playthrough on easy mode, not real hard but you have to make adjustment settings to the standard flt stick, there touchy unless you tweak them
