Sadly the last good NFS game...

Overall really enjoyed this game and its atmosphere even with lots of cons.

To start had a lot of fun racing others or just parking up next to each other. The world is beautiful and for the music choice of release date it was pretty solid selection. The vehicles feel buttery smooth like I'm cooking fine french cuisines on the streets.
The customizing is like the seasoning I never knew existed with just more fun than practical comparing to Forza Horizon car building system.

Now to the okay parts. The characters were cool in the idea they felt real and had real clothes (i own the same kappa pants before i even bought this). But with them looking so real they lacked this authenticity and real emotion. I just finished the game and without spoilers it just felt very meh in terms of character body language and emotions during that last scene. You wouldn't think this matters until its absent in the core cut scenes. Sometimes it felt like the game was trying to be 'woke/popular' but I don'y have any references for that, just the feel.

The things it felt missing was just a more community like hub. In GTA the car scene feels more authentic while this feels curated to make it feel like the 'car scene' without proper abilities and modes to really indulge in that scenario. I felt the story was too short and didn't really connect with a realism street scene. But again this is NFS and it tend to has that over-the-top antics like cop cars destroying their own to get you wrecked.

I give it an 7.5/10. This could be really progressed into a more depth of street racing but I think they just want to hit their marks and move on to the next new thing instead of innovation of this niche genre.

I want to start this off by saying I genuinely loved this game. I really enjoyed the arcade style physics, cool customization and intense police chases. However, my progress was wiped for seemingly no reason, and having nearly 100 hours on this game makes it far too difficult to justify working back to where I was. The fact that a game like this doesn't have proper cloud saving is an immediate no in my book.

I had an absolute blast playing this game!
It gives you the best of both "NFS Underground 2" and "NFS Most Wanted"
There are so many different things to do, collect and different tracks to race, on top of all the chases from the police that I loved like no other game from "Most Wanted" back then.

You get an incredible amount of stuff you can do to customize your car and it looks amazing!

A heads up though: On older systems that can barely run this, you should try turning on hardware acceleration. I played this on my old PC (using the 1060 gpu) and I had stuttering without turning that on, on the lowest settings, but after turning hardware acceleration on I could play on high without problems!

The controls feel very nice, the cars do move exactly how I'd expect them to, at least the ones I drove. (getting all cars would require a ton of grinding for money, which is the only thing I did not do, but I had quite a few different ones at the end!)

By the time I'm writing this, I've completely forgotten about the story. It was there, to keep the game going, but what you really want here, are the races and everything else that got to do with it, so I don't mind a bland story tbh.

If you ever want to try out a Need for Speed game, I'd highly recommend this one. It really got the best of everything and in a sale, it is incredibly cheap aswell!

The story is a$$ ngl but everything else is good enough to forget about that. Car selection is cool with the MW2005 E46 STILL featuring. Doesn't need a lot of grind to afford cars and parts. Also, the risk during night races is such a cool concept especially when playing online where you can't pause.

Has potential to be very fun but the mid and endgame absolutely obliterated by the police. Impossible to escape the police at any heat above 2, which you get in 1 and a half races, and you only stand a chance if you have a specialized loadout (which is only available halfway through the game), reaction times and precision of a CS pro, and the luck of a god. Be prepared to have your modestly successful night ravenously rawdogged by a heatseeking patrol car that goes 0-180 in .7 seconds and is made of solid tungsten. Yes I'm writing this immediately after this happened to me. Do not let it happen to you.
