Boomer shooters have their own niche and that niche is getting more popular. It's not that this style of game is bad, it's that it's not what you want. Which is fine. There are plenty of non-boomer shooters for you to play.

Most Warhammer fans are probably older and look on OG Doom as a fond memory, with Doom 2016 being an expansion on the game they played in their youth. Necromunda is a jankier version of that, and I've been quite enjoying it.

Except this is literally the only one that can be fairly compared to doom?
Not to mention "horrible gameplay" is pretty much just your opinion, myself and a lot of people think this game is pretty fun.
Sounds to me like you're just trying to deflect criticism for your bad take by going "anyone that disagrees with me is a fanboy!!!!!" Like mate, if you have an opinion on the game whatever, but this is a pretty weird and inaccurate argument.

40k space marine, was litterally a thee steaming pile. It ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ had spelling errors for god sake and invincible ai companions i could leave my game running for 10 minutes and be perfectly fine as ai bashed on ♥♥♥♥. like i said, fanboy-ness aside the games are steaming piles of crap.

there are no other 40k "doom" games. this is it. also i didnt run into a single bug on my playthrough so idk what youre talking about. great game.

I played for 20 minutes and found plenty and plenty of crappy quallity things.. for real nobody sees this ♥♥♥♥ or are you too focused on the lore an crap?

They cant say they dont have experience making these kinds of games so why the hell are they all consistently crap what few we get.

and what are these crappy qualities? when you say something is bad you have to say what they are. AI could be better but they're fine not any worse than other fps out there. plasmarifle has wonky hitboxes, some jank here and there. but i see nothing wrong, it stutters from time to time but that is much a computer thing as it is a game thing. really the only time it crashed on me was on chapter 9 after a dog stepped on a mine, once i killed the dog first it never crashed after that.

Many of us older folks aren't really into the modern trend for shooters to be low-movement, low-TTK, so "boomer shooters" have become a popular alternative with dynamic movement types and higher time to kill.

Right? I'd thought I was fairly up to date on these, did I miss some? Cos as far as I recall, one has a choice of a total of three other games you could call any kind of shooter, and none are particularly like Doom, 2016 or otherwise. There's Space Marine, which is more like a third person brawler. Then there's Space Hulk: Death Wing, and that TRIES to be tactical but........eh. It's just not very good for very long. And then......Fire Warrior........which is a badly aged legitimate piece of crap, 40k's Dried Up Dog Turd Award winner. If I missed one I'd like to know!

Why has every shooter that's come from 40k franchise been just Doom remakes? They are always clunky, full of bugs, generally horrible game-play that's ripped right out of Doom (arena fight to continue on, no "missions")

Yet when they make their turn based strategy games its smooth an thought out and usually got some original ideas and shows some care and love in the build of the game. Apart from story and lore their shooters have all been 110% garbage to play. Why do they show such incompetence in one genre but not the other.

Troll post so not sure why I'm replying, but this game is way more like Wolfenstien than Doom. With a bit of Cyberpunk style upgrade thrown in. The look and feel is more like Quake or Half Life to me.
The only bit that's like Doom is that you often fight enemies in arenas and you get health from killing stuff.

This post has the irony of a Doom fanboy complaining about games that aren't and weren't trying to be doom.

Also I played Wolfenstien, Doom, and Quake back in the 90s, but didn't have any interest in the more recent offerings; the setting just doesn't interest me. I am really enjoying this game. So it is perfect for me, as someone who doesn't plan on playing modern doom titles but can enjoy the frantic gun fights in the Necromunda setting.
