I have been working hard on Galactic Mining Corp and have been listening to the awesome feedback from the forums, discord and reviews (good and bad) and have made some changes and additions I hope you will enjoy!

Here is whats in this patch

• Added - 7 new completionist medals added with BIG STAT PRIZES. These can also be viewed in Office.
  
  1. All the Cores - Drill every core in the game
     
  2. Coretrium Complete - Complete the Coretrium
     
  3. All the Crew - Obtain and max level all crew
     
  4. Champion Explorer - Uncover all maps
     
  5. Upgrade all Items - ... all items upgraded
     
  6. Research Genius - Complete all research squares
     
  7. Material Master - Upgrade all tiles
• Added - New monster - Blockhead
  
• Added - Breaking a chest has a chance of releasing a TREASURE BONSON!!
  
• Added - MONSTER INFESTATION DETECTED! Some drill sites are now infested! (lots of monsters)
  
• Added - Some drill sites are now Swiss cheesed! (Lots of gaps)
  
• Added - Nano Drills now give XP for both tiles and Items they bring back
  
  
• Fixed - Auto drilling movement getting stuck on things
  
• Fixed - Correct number of rooms available now shown in Room Upgrade UI list.
  
• Fixed - Issue with some flavour text disappearing in galaxy map
  
• Fixed - Issue with option menu not displaying correctly
  
• Fixed - Typos and grammar errors
  
  
• Changed - Re balanced late game progress and reduced grind
  
• Changed - Reduced XP requirements of end game tile upgrades
  
• Changed - Decrease the difficulty of planet Apollo
  
• Changed - Tweaks to many drill location stats
  
• Changed - Nano drill cool-down reduced
  
• Changed - Nano drills have a better chance of finding rarer materials
  
• Changed - Monsters can spawn closer to each other and in more random ways

HOTFIXES/CHANGES SINCE PATCH---------------------------------------

HOTFIX - A few people may have been able to get INFINITE DRILL POWER due to an exploit in this patch! This has now been addressed.

HOTFIX - An issue was identified where nano drills were causing items to level up incorrectly. This has now been fixed.

HOTFIX 28.07.21 - A few people caught a bug in which they could not get the final item upgrade achievement (with item upgrade numbers exceeding total in game). This has now been addressed. Pressing the "Sync" button in the achievements screen of the office should provide the missing achievement. This only affected a handful of people caught between the major patch release and the hot fix later that day and only those who used nano drills in this short period of time.

HOTFIX 30.07.21 - Monster infestations have been reduced slightly across all infested locations.

HOTFIX 06.08.21 - Monster infestations have been reduced again to a more manageable level. I very much appreciate the feedback I have received about these.

HOTFIX 06.08.21 - For those who caught the item level bug. I have added a fix as best I could to help your save file. If you go to the office/achievement screen and press the sync button it should now return your item levels to the correct max and it SHOULD pop the Item completion badge and perk. You will also be awarded a load of drill tokens as this issue would have meant you could not get them all. Please let me know if this helps you. Its very difficult to test this as the issue was such a small window of time and didn't affect many people. I wanted to fix this as I feel those who were affected deserve better and I made a mistake. I hope this will fix the issue for those that were affected and I hope you are enjoying Galactic Mining Corp

Hey everyone! I have been working hard to make Galactic Mining Corp even greater! Thanks to your amazing feedback and suggestions I have added another set of fixes and additions.

Here is whats in this patch...

• Added a second control method. Several users with hand related injuries/problems have stated that extended play causes them discomfort. I want to do everything I can to make Galactic Mining Corp fun for everyone. Now you can switch to "Auto drill" mode in the options menu. This will make the drill automatically follow the mouse, when the left mouse button is held down you will stop until you release the button.
  
• Crit strike has had a make over. Hitting a crit will now cause damage to some surrounding tiles in front of your drill. A crit strike will cause (base drill damage + crit damage) to the tile being drilled and crit damage to surrounding tiles. This affects tiles, crates and chests!
  
• You can now hit crit strikes on chests and crates.
  
• Crit stike chance increased by 30%. You will see many more of them. I also increased the size of the crit strike visual effect.
  
• New Tooltip added . You can now mouse over tiles and items in the end of mission screen to see the names of the tiles and items.
  
• A large amount of optimisation should reduce frame rate issues when drilling large planets with tons of powerups.
  
• Reduced the cost of Mighty Obelisk of Research investment site by a considerable amount.
  
• Fixed an issue where having to much money made your cash turn negative. Capped at 2 Billion.
  
• Fixed the confusing wording of the Sunset Silo. It now refers to crit damage in its description.
  
• Fixed several sound effects not applying the player chose SFX volume
  
• Fixed a strange issue causing some chests to be empty in the explore screen
  
• Corrected a load of spelling mistakes
  
• Fixed an issue where giant worm would spawn twice in same place.

Hotfix (later the same day) - Anyone who had their cash turn negative before the above patch should now be pulled back into the positive when first entering the HQ screen. Sorry to anyone who got stuck in negative for a while. I hope this is now fixed for you all.

Again I want to thank you all for the most amazing release. Its been an absolute joy speaking with you all about the game and its amazing to see how much people are enjoying the game. Thank you!!!

Hey everyone.

Alongside the launch of the Galactic Mining Corp Steam trading cards I have managed to update quite a lot in the game itself. Some fixes and a few new additions!

• The infirmary level 3 upgrade no longer costs a BAJILLION coins. It now has a reasonable price.
  
• More work on the sound effects volume issue. I am hopeful it should now apply chosen volumes to sound effects (including muted)
  
• Music will no longer be interrupted/silenced by lots of explosions.
  
• Coretrium 3rd final node changed from a xp boost to a Research coin drop increase. (this will sadly not be applied if you have already unlocked it)
  
• Late game drilling earnings will be updated correctly when numbers get really high.
  
• Upgrading tiles/items to max will no longer randomly leave the "level up" button visible.
  
• Horizontal explosive crates now kill monsters.
  
• fixed another load of typo's and grammar issues.
  
• Fixed a rare issue in which 1 research square was not unlocking correctly
  
• Fixed an issue with a block break sound effect not playing every time
  
• Fixed an issue where unlocking space map squares behaved strangely (on rare occasions) in 3rd map bottom corner.
  
  
• Added a 5x green coin to reduce late game slow down due to coin and particle loads.
  
• Added a new investment site in 3rd galaxy. GO FIND IT
  
• Added a Sync button on the in game achievement screen which will resync with steam and unlock any achievements missed by Steam (you have to have them unlocked in that save file for Steam to find them)
  
• Added A currency larger than the blue gems for super hardcore grinders!

After the last patch a few people noticed a slow down, after a quick system restart it was gone so be sure to do this if you experience anything similar. If you are one of the unfortunate few who has had their Antivirus wipe their save files, please be sure to white list Galactic Mining Corp again after this patch just in case. I am still trying to address this issue.

Hey everyone!

Great news! Galactic Mining Corp steam trading cards are now live and can be earned while mining the universe!

A total of 10 character cards have been released for you to collect alongside 3 profile backgrounds, 5 emotes and of course a 5 level badge!

Hey everyone.

Thanks again for the mind blowing support and very helpful feedback about the game. I am reading and trying my best to respond to as much as I can.

• Sound effects should no longer play when SFX volume is set to zero and should also all play at the correct volume level
  
• Fixed a boosting bug where even when stationary boost points would be used
  
• Increased the size of the HQ panning control so you don't need to touch the very top of the screen
  
• You can now boost damage both chests and power up crates
  
• Changing location in the Astronomy screen while Nano drill loot is being provided no longer makes the items/tiles vanish
  
• Fixed a bug where monsters would get trapped outside the screen or not appear at all
  
• Fixed a bug in which rooms placed directly above the HQ door were behaving strangely when removed and replaced
  
• Tweaked particle creation when drilling again to try and reduced late game chaos lag
  
• Arcade game Banana Drama is now a little easier. Gun overheat takes longer to get and cools down quicker.
  
• Corrected another load of typos
  
• Fixed an issue in option menu where selection buttons didn't register when clicked

I am very aware of the readability issue some people are experiencing with certain blocks of text, this is being worked on however requires redesign/modification on several user interface elements so will take me a little longer to get that one fixed.

I am also aware a very small number of people are experiencing an issue with save files. It appears Windows defender is being over aggressive in a few rare cases and stopping save files being created without warning the user. A community solution has been posted in the discussions.

Thanks again for all the amazing support. Know that I am reading all reports and requests and working my way through everything that needs doing to make Galactic Mining Corp the best it can be.

Oh my days, what a launch week this has been! Thank you all so much for the enormous love you have shown for Galactic Mining Corp! On Tuesday, the game launched on Steam and the response has truly blown me away. Wow.

Galactic Mining Corp made it onto Steam's front page in "New and Trending" (and it's still there), but now also currently appears in the "Community Recommended" carousel too. The game has surpassed even my wildest expectations with more than ten times even my most optimistic sales estimates (this in addition to the huge backing the game got on Kickstarter). Over the last few days, the Steam stats have shown over a thousand concurrent players in the game during peak hours in the United States. It's incredible to see so many of you getting into the game.

I want to highlight the wonderful feedback from players. Not only have I read some wonderful reviews, but I am also grateful for the supportive messages received over Discord and Twitter - you lot are breathtaking. There are now over 150 reviews and Galactic Mining Corp's review summary is marked as "Very Positive". For those of you who followed the development on Twitch or backed the Kickstarter, you will know that the game has been refined and polished with the extra time afforded by the crowdfunding. From the feedback I have seen, it was totally worth it, so thank you all again.

As with any software release, a few bugs and edge cases have been identified by players, along with a number of feature requests and suggestions. The first Galactic Mining Corp patch was issued on Thursday and I will continue to work day and night to triage, prioritise and fix the items on the list.

Hey everyone.

Thanks for all the amazing support and feedback about the game. Its been amazing chatting with you all and seeing so many people enjoying the game.
I have been working day and night to address some small issues and requests raised both in the forums on Steam and in the Windybeard Discord

• Pilot perks are now explained inside the Garage screen. When you are in the crew selection screen for the drill you will now see what pilot perk the crew member has AND an explanation of what it does.
  
• Twin Trouble arcade is now a bit easier. Your score will increase a bit faster plus you now have 3 bits of health instead of one.
  
• Lots of spelling and grammar corrections throughout the game.
  
• Coretrium scrolling collider has been increased in size so now you dont have to touch the very top of the screen to pan around
  
• Added a navigation explanation to the Coretrium
  
• Removed confusing art assets from the Coretrium that signalled to players that you can pan left and right. (Will be adding new art instead soon)
  
• Initial sound settings are reduced in the options menu to a lower volume.
  
• Inconsistent room XP modifier information has been fixed.
  
• Reduced the height you can pan to in the HQ to a more accurate height.
  
• Fixed some issues with coin generation when drilling
  
• Addressed a rare banana drama game crash bug
  
• Fixed an issue with research particles being over produced.
  
• Likely some other stuff I forgot to write down.

There will be another patch soon. I am frequently checking all forum posts and discord messages and am aware of a few outstanding issues that may take a little longer to fix. Know that I am working on them as fast as I can.

Thank you all again for the amazing support. I am pretty gobsmacked by the reception of Galactic Mining Corp. Be sure to leave a review on Steam and have fun out there, may the planets be stuffed with gold.... and maybe apples/alarm clocks.
