A nice looking game to relax with for a few evenings. My main concern is that the controls make it difficult to relax. Our fox have a hitbox of a truck and drives like a tank. As long as you are just happily running it's fine but when you need to do any platformer sections that's when issues occur. For example Spirit Dash teleports you where Fox is looking not where you have your camera aimed at. Some sections are just tedious or plain boring. I know it's an exploration game but the locations sometimes looks so similar that I often lost track where I should go. Sprinkle it with some repetetive animations like blue flowers blooming or Fox shaking off each time you came out of the water. Performance wise it's mediocre at best. Lowest settings on Steam Deck gives you 60 FPS with occasional drops. Had a few bugs like Fox being stuck in the terrain geometry, under water. At the end of chapter three game just froze when I entered scripted ending.

Kudos for authors tho that you can easily play again not only a chapter but a certain part of it. Very handy when you want to 100% the game.

I had such a great time with Spirit of the North. The atmosphere is gorgeous—the combination of the soundtrack, the landscapes, and the overall ambiance pulled me in right away. The way the story unfolds without a single word is honestly beautiful, and it really stuck with me.

I was able to 100% the game without too much difficulty, which felt rewarding. The only exception was the Kindred Spirits achievement—I don’t think I would’ve managed that one without looking up a walkthrough, but I’ll chalk that up as a “me” problem.

Overall, it’s an experience I’m really glad I played. The design, the music, and the wordless storytelling all came together in a way that felt peaceful but still engaging. I’ll be starting Spirit of the North 2 soon, and I’m genuinely excited to see where it takes things next.

really nice calming puzzle adventure game, keeps you entertained and the graphics are really good too, not a timer thing where you have pressure to complete certain things which makes it very tranquil. I enjoy just calming down to this
