Manhunt

Manhunt

Manhunt isn't working. At all.
I know that there are lots of posts about this issue, but I feel that it's important to discuss.

Lately I've been playing the PS2 version of Manhunt, which I borrowed from my older brother. Sadly, the disc is so badly broken that it freezes, especially on 'Key Personnel' and 'Deliverance". Due to these unfortunate circumstances, I decided to try playing the PC version.

I forgot how bad the Steam version of this game is. When I first played it back in November, there was no audio, except for the intro and the cutscene in 'Born Again'. I replayed the game earlier, and the same issue happened, along with the gate being forced shut.

What the hell do I do? I've tried every method on the internet, and I still haven't succeeded at fixing it. Even the Manhunt fixer didn't work, and neither did the manual installation method work. Another thing I tried was enabling DirectPlay, which also didn't work. I might as well give up on this completely, because there's no hope.

If you tried everything then you might just go for a refund.

Manhunt fixer not working is strange, well give PCGamingWiki a look, have you tried "MHNoDRM" listed under essential improvements there? That could fix it if not, try compatibility modes otherwise its bad luck unfornately.

yeah im having the same problem. bought the game for 10 dollars, so im not upset, but this games piracy "measures" suck. i'll try the manhunt fixer, but if it doesn't work i think im gonna hit the uninstall button.

That's a good idea, but it might be too late for that. I've "played" this game for about 2 hours in total, but that time was actually just the game being stuck on the loading screen. Looks like I'm just gonna keep trying.

I did the things that the wiki told me to do, and nothing worked. Maybe I should retry it, in case I messed up.

There's gotta be something out there to get it working. It might be difficult, but it's not impossible.

Extract my fix collection into a fresh install of Manhunt. https://krakenfiles.com/view/7z80bugx9n/file.html

Nevermind. A factory reset has fixed it.
