Much better than Alwa's Awakening. The control scheme while similar is better since it maps the magic to another button. Platforming is fun and only a little frustrating in spots. The ability to change out the various magic ability traits at any time makes it interesting and is needed to progress. I did grab an online map of the dungeon which helped a lot. My main gripe is that they still kept the rather stupid (and pointless) up+X to also summon magic. Why? You already have the B button for it? Several times I wanted to attack while moving up but no, one cannot as it will just summon magic. Narf. They should make a toggle for this in case some one was used to this from Awakening.

Graphics are good but Pixel Art is Pixel Art which I guess is a throwback to old style gaming. I'm not sure why it is so popular. I'm a bit tired of it. I finished in about 16 hours. A bit of that was backtracking to get more orbs to have the magic abilities that I wanted to fight the final boss. Get this and skip Awakening if you only get one.
