Leveling is way too precise
the precision required for leveling is actually, like, progression loss rage inducing. You go even like an inch down and you just lose a lot of progress. And it takes 30 minutes to fix because of imprecise digging and filling mechanics. The distance considered "uneven" is less than a shovel's mound. Overall, not fun.

I honestly think the second game got it right. Having to worry about negatives too that you yourself can create is too much. In real life you get things like shovel tapping and you know, being able to move soils sideways.

If you want to go this route at least, at least give something like an automatic plate compactor. It's literally made for this kind of work.

Also called a Plate Tamper, the tool literally just vibrates a heavy metal sheet along the ground, to vibrate and compress sediment. Used a lot in stonework and asphalt work because of its ability to create a perfectly level surface, even when the uneven won't fit normally.

Oh yeah, i forgot to mention that it certainly doesn't help that the vehicles get beached really easily by very small mounds of dirt (especially noticeable on the track loader, since it has a tendency to move dirt when its tracks move, so if you move over the same spot a bunch, you get a small mound that you will inevitably beach on, preventing you from moving it ever again for the rest of the contract), things which probably wouldn't be an issue for vehicles of this size. There is no way to do them in a timely nor concise manner, even with the track loader. The levelling missions are practically unplayable because of it, unless you want to spend a total of 11 days digging out dirt by hand.
