I don't think Rift Traversal has staying power with the current death penalty.
I've been enjoying the mode, but I finally died. I knew it would be a heavy hit, but losing your weapon and armor hits hard. I'm shelling out for more gear now, but if someone loses enough times, they can get completely locked out of being able to do this mode unless they can get someone to carry them through a game so they can nab someone else's equipment.

Ideally, if you gather enough stuff, you should be able to profit enough to counter whatever you lose, but as it is, the bar for re-entry after death is rough, and I foresee majority of players that wind up dying just quitting. There needs to be some way to protect our gear upon death. By all means, rough it up. Make me repair it. I just don't think that someone else being able to take it is the answer here.

Don't go for the best thing you can afford, use weapons you can easily replace at your current level. You can also go in with a blank inventory and fight uphill, I do that sometimes for fun.

The problem is, if you die in your first few matches, you're pretty low on options. Your rare armor and weapon are gone with no way to get new ones.

The shop should have extremely cheap blues. I'm fortunate that I have battle edicts right now.

i am dying 4/5 rounds idk what is wrong with the damage output even from mobs, one time i could clear an ent stronghold myself and next time our whole team dies, very unbalanced at the moment

I had this issue with one match, but that's it. I'm not sure what the issue was, because I definitely had blue weapons and armor. I wonder if some ent strongholds are just stronger than others.

Some Ent Camps are definitely harder than others.

If I start running low on void coins, its time to play it safe and just go looting boxes, crates and storages etc until finding the odd blue or purple items and extracting early with those and selling them off at the camp.

Usually other players are not looking to extract in the 1st or 2nd extraction portals that appear in-match so you're pretty safe if you aim for those.

Also, I recommend using the Mole Hook over the Grappler. The Mole Hook does wonders in shaking off an enemy team chasing you or any other aggressive pvpers if all you're doing is looking to safely extract and not risk fighting and losing loot.

New update hit. They nerfed the health and astral aegis of non-player enemies significantly. Feels way better.

The game gives quite a generous amount of battle edicts to start with. Especially if you're on top of the current events, so it should be quite hard to reach rock bottom. I'm current in the 2900s in rank score and am at the point where I can reliably restock Epic gear if needed, with Legendary Gear being within reasonable reach.
