Since all of Shinji’s attacks can inflict Confuse and Weaken, if you can inflict a status ailment, you can Confuse the enemy while dealing even greater damage.

Kensei can inflict "Weaken" with all attacks except his second strong attack. If he inflicts Weaken on his enemies, it reduces the damage he receives from them to 1 and allows him to deal more damage to them.

With the Soul Trait "Damage taken -21%" and the Innate Skill "Decreased Hollow Damage Taken (-20%)", he especially demonstrates his resilience in quests against Hollow enemies. With the skill "Poise," he can batter enemies without being staggered.

He can then deal massive damage to enemies he has inflicted with Freeze with powerful skills such as "Damage to Frozen Enemies +100%," as well as "Status Ailment Spiritual Pressure Boost +80%" and "(Team/Party) Heart Attribute Soul Reaper Damage to Status Ailment-Affected Enemies +40%."

With the EX Move "Wide-Range Freeze Trap," Toshiro can activate a trap that inflicts Freeze onto the enemies around him. Time this right and follow it up with strong attacks or his Special Move to deal immense damage.
