3rd Person for First Playthrough?
I heard the DLC added a 3rd person mode to the game and I was wondering if I should use that for my first playthrough though I'm unsure if the game actually works well in 3rd person since it's made for 1st person

Third person in this game is very much just first person with the camera zoomed out. It does not handle like the remakes of 2 3 and 4. Better off with first person.

Does this make Winters’ Expansion a waste of money even if it’s currently on sale? I played through RE8 on console, just debating on if I want to play the DLC or just replay the base game

no, because you get the rose dlc with that right? or thats the gold/deluxe edition? if not yeah prolly not worth.

The Rose DLC does come with the Winters expansion.

IMO it's worth it if it's on sale for cheap, but not at list price. The Rose DLC adds value, but is itself on the weak side IMO. Gameplay and story-wise it's a nothingburger, but it does add some extra conceptual horror twists to the lore of RE7-8.

Eh, one thing I did notice is I'm faster in the prologue snow are then in 1st person (Unless it's some placebo effect).
