I downloaded the demo you cannot play with an 360 controller? A fighting game you cannot play with controller? Phantom Breaker (not omnia) works great on x360.

Not sure about the demo, but the full game forms fine with 360 wired controller

For some reason, the controls in the demo seem to be mapped wrong in code. The game thinks (real) B is (in-game) A and (real) X is (in-game) B.
