Doing evil playthrough. Does the Camellia Quest bother anyone else?
I've finished the Camellia quest on my evil playthrough, and it really bothers me how I am forced to be good. After a hundred hour playthrough of kicking every puppy.

My options are:

(Seelah) You are a monster. Time to face justice.
(Ember) I forgive you. Friendship conquers all.
(Regill) You are a monster, but you are still useful to the greater cause.

These are all good choices, not evil choices. This is what I expect an evil response should be.

(Wendaug) You claimed to have a way to close the worldwound. You turned out to be a weakling boasting of powers you did not possess. It's a good thing I have an extra brain-torture circlet from hundred-face's Numerian device. It will make you strong.

(Greybor) You broke a promise to the wrong person. If I let you live, other people might think to do the same.

The entire plot is closing the worldwound, so the whole Mireya thing is a major issue. It's completely out of character for anyone besides Ember to just let Camellia live. So this entire issue never gets addressed. So, narrative inconsistency or am I misunderstanding something about the Camellia final quest?

I think they do a lot not to cripple you to too much if you're evil...until you return from Iz, at least.
I suppose, but Camellia isnt exactly the strongest party member. Her stats kinda limit her options.

Throughout the game, there's a recurring theme that my evil commander really likes to recycle people. Sacrificing people to become cyborgs. Sacrificing people to demons. Turning people into giants possessed by an evil sword. Turning people into mindless beasts of burden. Turning people into undead.

It's a bit disappointing that the whole worldwound plot point is quickly forgotten and forgiven and there's no way to deal with Camellia except as a champion of justice.
I wouldn't say letting a literal psycho running around, help her kill dozens of very much innocent people is the work of a "champion of justice".

Being evil is not about picking all the "[Evil] I don't like you, die !". Unless you play a psycho that is better as swarm because they are a brain dead brute that hate everything and everyone. Ironically, Xanthir is so misanthropic he litteraly commit suicide.

-Greyborr don't betray you if he likes you. Which is more likely to happen on an evil playthrough because that mean you didn't try to convince him that "assassin bad, go toward the light and redemption". If you treated him nicely (which mean don't preach to him, let him do whatever he want), he is the most perfect henchman an evil character can dream of. Loyal to a fault, don't plot against you, don't care about taking your power....
-Wenduag brings you an army you can use. On top of that, those mongrels are super dumb and make good cannon fodder. Wenduag herself is dumb as a brick and easy to manipulate.
-Seelah is a paladin, OFC she is not going to be best buddy with you. A real evil person would have known that and asked her to leave, which you can do very early. Without plot reason forcing her to stay, she would leave early to, as paladin can see your alignement.
-Regill is lawful evil. If you are also lawful evil he is the best buddy ever. Even chaotic evil can find a use for him, as he get the Hellknight on your side, and they are a force to be reckoned with.
-Ember : you can drive her crazy. She have 3 endings, "good" (power of redemption !), "lawful" (basically Sarenrae, redemption for those who wish it, HOLY FIRE AND DEATH for the rest), "evil" (she become crazy). Mechanically, evil is the worst (she lose stats), good is best (she gain +2 charisma). Lawful get her a spell.


As for camelia, why would you care that she lied ? You're evil surrounded by evil people. Obviously everyone lie and plot. Nocticula is perfectly aware Shamira is plotting against her. Nocticula can replace her, but she know the next one will plot to betray to. Like Saforian (or whatever he was called) before Shamira.
Also, Camelia have too much intelligence in her stats, since she is worse at hiding the truth than a 5years old. She slip in many conversation about the spirit, notably. Should have been obvious for any character with more than 8 inteligence she was a liar. You can even use perception check to say you are doubtful, on occasion.

If you kill everyone that plot against you, lie or try to increase their power, you'll find yourself very much alone as an evil character. Good characters wouldn't do that, but they won't work for you. Evil characters who work for you do it all the time.

As for people that are very much not belonging in your party, like Seelah or Sosiel, you can always tell them to leave. I did it with sosiel on my lich run. I didn't for Seelah because I know she'll leave anyway.

Evil have issues. Mostly due to necessary game balance. Even the most evil need to be made knight commander (and Galfrey made a fool). Anevia-Irabeth need to follow you for many plot reasons. The army to, because otherwise you'd look a bit silly in act 3.

Also, I wish we could push Sosiel toward evil. Early on, you can push him, but nothing come out of it. It's not for "corruption", but to show that, like his brother, he has an "evil" side he very much need to control. Sadly we can't push him.
