I suspect that Imperiums is better since it is the second iteration of Aggressors. I wouldn't really know since I hopped into the series at Imperiums and didn't really look back at its predecessor :)

In general, even though Imperiums is pretty much a descendant of Aggressors, Aggressors has its own charm with a different campaign map and simpler rules.
That being said, I would suggest to try both since there is a bundle you can buy and get 20% discount:)

I would suggest to try Aggressors first, learn the core rules there (it takes a while) and after you feel strong enough ini Aggressors, move on to Imperiums. There are more mechanics to handle in Imperiums.

Thank you for your answer. I got this game Imperiums: Greek Wars but Im also interested in Aggressors: Ancient Rome as well. Im new to 4x games and Id like to understand the concept, the phylosophy, because Im more familiar with rts which is another concept of game. There are not so many 4x games based on history, I see half of them are based on space or an evolution in history till now but Im more interested in Ancient history.

I very much enjoyed both of them. And at 9 bucks on steam right now Aggressors is a good deal even if you only play one complete campaign as Rome.

Oh and as you're wandering about the gaming world in search of ancient history I'd humbly suggest checking out Hegemony III: Clash of the Ancients.

I play both of them on a regular basis. Aggressor is great when you have less time to play.

Definitely check out Civilization 5 (and later 6) then. It's the staple 4X game and it's good to be familiar with it ^^

And I'd suggest Civ 4 if you're actually looking to visit the world of Civ.

It was the last game Soren was involved with and makes it the last Civ worth playing.
