Output file bigger than input
Hey there,

so my output file was 6GB larger (2 hours video) than the clips together. How can it be? I even didn't choose the highest quality. Output file was mp4 with h264 and VBR with preset high and 30 FPS.

Hello! This can actually happen because all the original files are converted during the export process. To reduce the size of the output file, click the "Advanced" button in the export settings window and reduce the value of the "Quality" field. Yeah the output file has naturally a lower quality as it was on high and not highest. So how can it be bigger? Doesn't make sense as quality is already lost in contrast to the original file.

Could you please clarify what format and video codec your source files have? The output file may weigh more than the original files combined if the original files had a higher compression ratio.

MKV and NVENC Codec. Preset was big files in OBS, so one step before lossless.

Well, it looks like your source files were indeed highly compressed. We can recommend choosing the same MKV format for the output instead of MP4, and the H.264 codec. This can help maintain quality while maintaining the same output video size

I don't think so. I tried encoding the files with MeGUI and x264 and it came out only a third of the original file size.
