Chapter 11 Bug
I don't have the game on steam, but I have it from Gamepass, and I doubt the Steam version and the Windows Store version are all that different, so I'm just gonna take a long shot and ask here if anyone has experienced this. I will also spoiler in case anyone who isn't at this point happens to stumble across this

In chapter 11, when you are in the basilius prison thing running away from the rats, my camera seems to lock to the right while im running up the stairs, and i literally cannot move my camera, and when I do, i usually get caught by the rats, and I literally cannot progress past this point. i am hoping that anyone might be experiencing the same thing and if they found any solutions? I tried opening and closing the game about 1000 times, restarting my pc, verifying the game files, etc etc, the usual troubleshooting stuff.

If nothing else ill try contacting focus entertainment / asobo studio's customer service and see what they say

It's not a bug, they made it this way deliberately, If you recall there are places in game before that are the same regarding camera position.

so the camera is basically locked in single position, for dramatic effect I guess, what you need to do is follow the spiral stairs with your movement buttons (Shift+WASD)so that Amicia goes in the direction of the stairs relative to the camera position, took me about 10 tries before I managed to get it right.
Forget the mouse for camera positioning, it won't work, it's like you only have a keyboard and you need to move over the spiral stairs.

so you need to run to left, to compensate for camera position, like I said it takes some time to get it right

This worked for me... Just aim as if you're going left each step... Which I figured out after 20+ trials

THANK YOU for this - resolved. A ridiculous change in control mechanism but you are right it works. Cheers - saved me uninstalling mid-game :)
my turn of running into this. Just Awful
