Also, just to rule out the possibility: Could the source of the sound be set to a different one than intended in OS' sound settings?

Tried to change the audio device but still got no audio

So does it happen while you are using HDMI out as your sound output?
(I know after switching it you still got the issue, but I wonder if HDMI is involved too).

I have music, but it's like there are no sound effects.

Yes, it does. I don't know if this helps, I just tried Finding Paradise and To The Moon to check if I get any audio problems with them. Both are working fine

I would also like to adjust the sound, the music is loud for me, I wanted to make it quieter.

There are sound effects in the house, but for some reason they were not on the street.

Sorry for the inconveniences, we will investigate the issue, but for now we have an alternative build that will hopefully work as expected for you.

Please right click on Impostor Factory on your Steam library, click on Properties, then the "Betas" section and setting it to "alternative".

An update should download, then you should hopefully be able to run the game,
Please note that this alternative version is English-only for now.

Same issue, no music/sound with the "default" 32/64bit versions of the game.
