Looking for more Point&Click Games like this one!
Hey folks,

i played Black Mirror recently and enjoyed it so much that i was looking for similar games. Then i found The excavation of HB just in time and REALLY enjoyed it too. Great game.

So do you guys have some recommendations for other games like that? (i already played Baphoments curse)

I like mystery, dark atmosphere, horror and a interesting story. I dont mind if its an older game (Black mirror was old too). Also i dont mind graphics - it can be modern or pixel style like Excavation was. Something with voice output would be great - but its ok without.

Please give me some stuff! Im kind of adicted at the moment for such kind of games.

Thanks a lot.

In recent years, The Last Door is probably your best bet. Creepy and some decent puzzles.

Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis. An old classic which this game seems to have taken some inspiration from.

I allready played that :) - also all the monkey island games, simon the sorcerer and so on.

Im looking for some more darker, horror thriller - like Excavation was.

The Cat Lady comes to mind, Strangeland as well (tooting my own horn i worked on both of these). Tbf, Fran Bow probably the best thing to get after this.

I absolutely recommend the Dream Machine. It's not strictly speaking a horror game, but it has a lot of disturbing scenes in it, and it's pretty unique considering it's entirely made in claymation.

One of the best point and clicks I've played in recent years, good writing, great imagination and puzzles that are inventive and often difficult.

And if you want real old-school indie horror: Yahtzee's horror games: 5 Days a Stranger, 7 Days a Sceptic, Trilby's Notes and 6 Days a Sacrifice.

Many folks don't realize, but Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw's made a bunch of games, most of them good. His Trilby series is the best part.

These are originally stories of a Trilby the cat burglar being caught up in a haunted house with a deranged killer on the loose but eventuelly evolve into what Yahtzee called the Chzo mythos and involved elder gods and mystic cults.

All his non-commercial games can be downloaded for free here: https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/search/creator:Yahtzee/1/name/asc/

Very well worth the time.

Two game with a somewhat similar setting are The Slaughter: Act One (unfortunately only Act One has been released) and Milkmaid of the Milky Way (definitely wouldn't call this one dark though).

I'd also recommend Chronicle of Innsmouth, Dead Synchronicity: Tomorrow Comes Today, Demons Never Lie, Distraint, Nightmare Frames, Norco, Tormentum, Yesterday, The Blind Prophet, The Corruption Within, The Unholy Society (this one feels very unfinished though), Yuppie Psycho.

Saint Kotar. Its art style and atmosphere is VERY similiar to the Black Mirror games.
