Molten vapor fragments and/or shrapnel could then scatter towards the face or bare hands of the lightsaber user, and cause harm if they were not careful."

You'd most probably need to dodge it, wear armor that can withstand the force of a bullet, or somehow use the Force to deflect the projectile or cushion the blow.
