It's good! The tactical gameplay is solid. All of the agents are mechanically unique with unique build interactions, the three enemy factions all feel different to play against and noticeably change over the course of the campaign, even the different mission types and maps are really impactful. And the big critical missions are all in neat environments with unique mechanics. The strategic side of things doesn't develop as interestingly over the course of the game, but it was still influencing what missions I wanted to take on all the way up to the end. And I'm really quite fond of all the characters.

The learning curve felt really steep. Stealth abilities outside of combat had limited charges in each level, so once they were all used up it felt like there was no way to approach a scenario without just resorting to combat. But then it gave a scenario that was too difficult to solve in combat at the end of the mission, leaving me with no stealth abilities and a seemingly impossible situation. Maybe I'm not being the most creative, but I shouldn't feel completely stumped and have to resort to googling how to get past something in the intro mission. On top of that there is no difficulty setting that I could turn down to make it more approachable in the early part of the game until I could get a handle on how to play. Lastly the controls made me want to scream, since there is no way to move the camera in real time without moving the characters themselves, so a frustrating gameplay experience quickly became intolerable. If I hadn't gotten this as part of Humble Bundle Choice I would return it. Unfortunately I'll have to suffer the bad taste in my mouth every time I see it in my library from now on instead. I really wanted to like this game too, since the story and the characters seemed interesting, but it felt like the game was trying to convince me not to like it every step of the way.

Mixed rating. Lots of fun at first but game balance is an issue later in game. Really wanted to like this.
