Mobility upgrade?
Even with the sprinting given the size of the maps you end up in it feels like a bit of a chore to run around grabbing metal from the destroyed bots, can there be a way to move faster?

Another thought, alternatively maybe a drone station that can collect salvage?

Hmm... yes, it's a risk to venture out to salvage metal, takes time, leaves your Sentry repairs in the hands of your drone. It's a strategic decision. Build more metal miners instead unless you already have 5 working?

Not even remotely risky honestly from my perspective, just tedious haha. The drone is pretty reliable for repairs, only time a massive amount of turrets get wiped is during EMP's and you aren't venturing out during those.

Good point. Depending on the level (this won't work on flat levels) jumping down a hill really can speed the process up. Even if it is a small hill that can work also :)

A good workaround for now, in case a better mobility option does get added in.
