i have humans that are clay miner but i want them to be scientist, how do i switch his occupation?

By making the labratory a higher work priority for humans in the occupation tab.

you can set up work priorities per race in the labor menu. that should allow you to ensure that your humans only mining clay if your labs are already full with human workers
