That’s what I thought, nothing to lose really because the price is so low.

Two things still don't work:
XIII will be shooted although he takes a hostage and in the last third of the game in can happen that he can't throw his knifes at enemies.

Tower 5 fixed most of the bugs.

the FOV is still minimum and the fov slider doesn't work. Because of that the game is basically unplayable, at least for me

I second the hostage shooting. It's total garbage. You can point her right at them and they will still shoot. Not every-time, but it should be never. It ruined this so bad I quit. I don't remember this being a problem with the OG version, here i've tried 8 times and said ♥♥♥♥ it, there's much better games to waste time on.

TBH, I never understood why this remake got so many negative reviews and user scores, neither when I watched it's YouTube gameplay nor when I bought it on GoG and played it myself. This remake never deserves this many negative reviews; I still don't know where the problem is after playing it.

As many as I've read, most of them just wrote "worst remake I've ever seen,"  "another trash remake,"  "refunded," and "awful game.".

When this game was released, I watched many gameplay videos and felt there were no issues. I bought it recently on GoG, and after playing it, I still don't understand why it gets so many negative scores.

Maybe it was a buggy mess on release and fixed after 4 years, but now the only difference I see is that some cut-scenes changed and the comic style is gone, which is not a big con in my opinion, and even if it is to lose comic visuals, still it doesn't deserve 30 meta scores and negative user scores. The remake became more realistic and less comic.

There are many improvements to gameplay to be comfortable for modern standards, including better gunshot sounds and visuals and better keybinds.

I understand, but there are a number of informative reviews on Steam that do lay out the various problems with this release. For me, the biggest issue is now the questionable artwork. A lot of atmosphere has been lost

I have the GOG version and I can recommend the game now. Compared to the horribly buggy and unfinished version from the time of the original release, which got a lot of negative reviews, it is now fixed and worth playing.

Nah this is game is trash tier and undeserving of your money.
