Should I play the previous ones?

I found this game on youtube and wanted to take a look. I discovered then that i´ts the end of a trilogy. Do I need to play the other two to understand this one?

No, you do not need to play the other games in the Dusk series first.

I recommend you play Atelier Escha & Logy, as it is superb. However, Atelier Shallie stands on it's own as a great game and does not need you to have played other games before it.
