So there is hope.
DT has a better class system than EO as well. In EO you just choose and then start from lvl1. In DT you get 5 base classes at first, and choose your actual classes (2 per base class as an option) at lvl15, which is also a level you can freely reset to, whenever you want to. A second class upgrade exists at lvl30 (also a reset level). Thus you can use skill points freely without needing to worry about "saving" them for later classes, the "old" classes' skills also remain there. It's a much easier system to get into, that doesn't require a good plan before you even start the game. Unfortunately the skill descriptions tell you about the same as in etrian: Nothing.
I'd buy those in a heartbeat, even though I do own DT 2 on the Vita. (which I didn't touch in a long time though..)
