Upon doing so and listening or skipping the conversation pertaining to the crashed vessels lone escape pod. The tutorial overlay comes up locking you into selecting a marine to upgrade and then selecting an upgrade. Upon left clicking and holding the mousebutton to purchase the selected upgrade, the upgrade will visibly be acquired. However the tutorial overlay that disable mouse interactivity with the area on screen outside of where the tutorial popup wants me to click, remains open and active. With the upgrade visible in the upgrade slot and nothing left to select in the spot where the mouse still has interactivity, the tutorial popup remains open locking me out of continuing beyond that screen.
I've tried reloading a few different saves, uninstalling and reinstalling the game, starting a completely new game, verifying the game files, begging and pleading on the internet for help, as well as looking for fan patches/mods or fixes, as well as trying to cross research similar problems for other games made in the same engine in the hopes of finding some form of workign solution.
No refund, no solution- this bug has persisted for some players since last year and devs wont fix.
New players-DONT BUY
Have you made the extraction shortly after the mission or have you played for a long time before extraction?
Both, I've extracted as early as possible. As well as playing to the point that there are no more mission markers on the Dead Hills map and extraction back to the Otago becomes necessarry for campaign progression. The earliest extraction being at 3% and the latest one at the maximum 65% mission completion on the Dead Hills deployment. Regardless at which time the team extracts back to the Otago for upgrade, or the ammount of progress made. The tutorial glitches and locks me in as previously described;
Upon loading the Otago and after proceeding through the mission review pannels, the Tutorial points me at the laboratory, then automatically yanks me over to the workshop, before unlocking the barracks and instructing me to go there.

Then selecting an upgrade. Upon left clicking and holding the mousebutton to purchase the selected upgrade, the upgrade will visibly be acquired. Excuse me... I'm not trying to be rude but are you joking? Yes you are remembering correctly, the Back button is indeed the way to proceed. However we would not in fact be having this conversation, if the plainly visible back button didn't have it's interactivity disabled by the tutorial overlay. Which is to say the back button does nothing.
I will not bother you anymore.
I just upgraded my marine in the barracks for close to 30 times now on different playthroughs. It is clearly your rig that is the problem.
Probably because this game was not properly tested on a large enough test group.
Windowed mode didn't work but I haven't tried messing around with the resolution yet, thanks.
Well at least I would be good for something. Please accept my apology for behaving boorishly, I do appreciate every attempt to help me in trying to resolve this issue.
Also given a lot of the feedback I've gotten from people who are experiencing the same issue, I am not fully convinced that our rigs are entirely to blame. Since the game supposedly used to work fine for several other people on their PCs and only stopped functioning as intended, post one of the updates/patches. Assuming that these accounts can be taken at face value, then there might be some hope left.
Although hey, since you're having none of these issues yourself. Would you, or anyone else whose not experiencing this Bug, mind just starting a new game on story, extracting from dead hills at the minimum 3% completion doing the otago armory tutorial, redeploying back to dead hills. And then uploading that save file to nexus mods? It would be helping a lot of people who really want to play more of this otherwise superb piece of entertainment, not only me.
Just a thought, have a nice day now.
