Read this if you experience FPS drops or crashes
Hey, folks!

Since there have been many of you who have experienced either frequent crashes of the game or random FPS drops, I thought it would be nice to have a handy document in which I will share what kind of information we need in order to help you solve those pesky problems. If you experience either of those, make sure to check this thread.

Send us your save files

Honestly, that should be your go-to thing when you experience something strange in the game. Whether it's bug, fps randomly drops, crash occurs – you name it – the first thing you should do is to send us your save files. Now, how do you find those? In the Windows search bar type: %LOCALAPPDATA%/GSS2/Saved/SaveGames. Then make sure to zip all of your save files and send them to us on support@drago-entertainment.com

Then, we'll share those save files with our testers immediately, and trust me – they will track those issues and come up with the solution way, way faster than anyone else from the team.

Share your specifciation with us

Another useful sort of information we can get from you. Don't hesitate to share those specs with us. And along with that, don't forget to share on what kind of hard drive your game is installed (either SSD or HDD).

Share your display settings with us

I'm gonna be honest with you – yesterday when I was preparing for the stream, I've realized that the game runs much smoother when you change the display settings from Borderless to Full Screen, so you can see that even this may affect how your game plays.

That should be it regarding this topic. We're carefully analyzing every single comment from you, and we're here to help, but please keep in mind – the more information we get from you, the faster we'll be able to track those issues. Hope it helps.

Thank you! As a long time fan I dunno why I havent sent my save in yet lol- ive got some wild bugs lol.

I had crashes every 10 minutes with a Unreal Engine error, after reducing the graphics from high preset to medium preset it stoped

Do we get feedback if we send a report? Crashes on mine don't show the Crash Reporter pop-up like 99% of the time and I just have to force quit. It's on a macbook 3 pro. Experienced the most crashes in a day within the last weeks or so.

Are you still experiencing those crashes? What feedback are you referring to? Our programmers are actively working on issues reported via the UE crash reporter, investigating bugs, and fixing them as soon as possible. Im a mac user, how does one send the files on a mac system??
No matter what quality you choose the game has a really weird frame rate drop makes it very unplayable.

Hi Dev, I’ve been playing this game for quite some time on my MacBook, but suddenly I can’t play anymore. The game just gets stuck on the loading screen and then 'Not Responding.' Please fix this. :(
Is there a reason why my saves disappeared from last night to today? All my auto saves, and manual saves gone. There's only one save from Day 1 waking up in my room after the intro. All my progress has been wiped. Why? What could have caused this?

If your saves are missing, it might be due to Steam Auto-Cloud, or they may still be available locally. You can check your save file location here:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\GSS2\Saved\SaveGames

Please verify how many files you have named "GameSave[...]" and "AutoSave[...]", then compare that number with the saves visible in the game’s interface.

I compared my saves folder with the actual game. My game has 2 "Game Saves" and 5 "Auto Saves". ( I Started a new game ) However, my save folder has 4 "Game Saves" and 8 "Auto saves". So lets assume, those are my missing saves. How do I recover them in my game?

I just loaded back my game after a while cus of the new DLC. My character stutters every 2 seconds, whatever settings i put on..

yesterday at 3/13/2025 i got crash for first time and after pop up theres ton of word but i saw .exe mostly pls fix nver had before dont had more in the future pls im using rtx 5080 soc vanguard with i9 14900k only your game crash so far mh wild no crash thats the funny part
The game has UE crashed since day 1 and still no fix ......all that post above is just sillyness I have over 10,000 hours in different "just steam games alone" and have never had to send a save file or anything to any dev team.....

Their games just work.......Now im not saying other games dont UE crash but GSS is the worst culprit in my library for these crashes.

how bout you set up some of your people playing the game and figure it out cause last i checked this aint no EA project and your churning out DLC regularly :steamsalty:

My setup is pretty normal

R7 5800x
rtx 2070 super
32g gskill
game on a ssd
oddesy g4 240hz monitor
850w power supply
maybe add a Bug reporting thread instead of just having general discussions .....I mean years later I dont understand why this does not exist .....Its a feature here at steam :steamhappy:

Then while your at it add a technical support thread too that way you can seperate it all instead of this "no system" in place for years now lol
