is doom 64 the real doom 3.

I feel like the doom 3 we got in 2005 wasn't actually a sequel it felt more like a build up to that lousy movie with Dwayne Johnson, doom 64 actually felt more like the real doom 3.

Well, story wise it`s direct sequel to Doom 2.

I mean, if we want to get technical, in a sense, yes. It's more explicitly canonically connected to the first two games, and to 2016 and Eternal, with the latter outright working it into its story.

Yeah it's the true Doom 3. Infact it was originally going to be called that, but id Software wanted to be the ones to use that name, which in my opinion was a mistake.
