I brought this on the premises that it would be a game where as the broadcaster the way you presented the news (what shots you showed, what you censored) would influence the world, demonstrating how propaganda can control and ignite the masses but in reality you don't get that. There's only one right way to do the broadcast and if you don't do it that way you lose.

The actual choice and influence from the game comes from text options you select in between your actions as a broadcaster and the adverts you choose to play, and certain images you select to show (2 images to chose for each selection) Very simple mechanically, just like a basic visual novel.

Not what I wanted or expected. Very dissapointed.

You will not regret playing this game - and that is a Peter Clement promise.

Very torn with this recommendation.

The gameplay is really cool and keeps you on your toes with new elements being added regularly and the stress keeps rising. The acting is amazing, sometimes a bit over the top but always good. I like the overall idea of the plot, being part of the media while also having to look out for your family and navigating this challenge never knowing what the next live session will bring. the text adventures between the editing sessions add a nice layer of short quiet parts between the hectic editing. it also feels like my choices at least somewhat matter, even when you learn the game wants you to edit in a certain way. here comes the first problem that the time between these sessions passes sooo randomly, sometimes it's a day, sometimes half a year (?).

so this quickly turns into a huge mess and might have worse pacing than One Piece (SPOILERS AHEAD BE WARNED, i try to keep it abstract though)

one example: if you choose to side with the counter-revolution you are given the option to support them by giving a somewhat innocent looking signal. It escalates and theres a huge fight OUTSIDE YOUR EDITING ROOM. then one day passes, they ask you why you gave that signal, you can just say "the machine malfunctioned" and thats it. months pass until the next editing session and no consequences. You're telling me I live in a fascist state, I give the signal for a huge violent fight and there are zero consequences other than a stern question from my boss? and then it's not even mentioned how that fight ended in the next days or in the next news sessions? and the sidequests with my family are nice, but doesnt really reach a lot of depth.

the gameplay stays fun and the acting keeps me playing, but man the pacing is just so bad, that I play this for the director's sim that it is.
