Hey folks,

Patch 6.3 is now available as an opt-in Beta! As detailed yesterday, due to some unforeseen compatibility issues with some AMD hardware that can cause crashes, we've delayed the full release of the Patch until next week to get these resolved.

We wanted to still give you the chance to get your hands on the update today via this Beta, but please be aware that if you have an AMD GPU and choose to opt-in, that you may experience infrequent crashes, but rest assured that our teams are already on the case.

1. Open your Steam client and go to your Library.

2. Right-click on Total War: WARHAMMER III and select 'Properties'.

3. Navigate to the 'Betas' tab.

4. In the drop-down menu, select 'proving_grounds - Siege Beta'.

5. Steam will then download the necessary files and begin the patching process to install the Beta.

Steam will need to download around 2.1 GB of game data in order to install. Please be aware that the patching process can take some time depending on your hard drive speeds.

If you experience any issues after downloading the update, please take a moment to Verify the integrity of the game files first to ensure there were no issues when downloading. A step-by-step guide can be found in this article.

Please note that user-generated mods may have compatibility issues with new game updates. We’re expecting to publish the full release notes for Patch 6.3 this Friday, followed by the Update itself next week, but if you can’t wait that long join us tomorrow on Rally Point where we’ll be playing and discussing Patch 6.3 live on stream. In Patch 6.3, look forward to updates and improvements to the Tomb Kings and Lizardmen races, audio updates including the death and rebirth of Alberic le Generic, new unusual locations, new free units, some streamlining on how to claim FLC for WH3 as well as a little extra blood splatter for everyone that likes to stick their noses right into the thick of it during battle.

This week, we have Senior QA Live Technician Liam Newman covering the changes and improvements coming to the Tomb Kings and Lizardmen, Principal Designer Mitch with the sports and weather on Unusual Locations and more, Sam, John and Chris for an update from the audio department and Game Director Todor Nikolov with a quick breakdown of WH3 FLC and how we’ve simplified how to get it.

The Proving Grounds Siege Beta is now available to download on Steam! This is your chance to get hands-on with the changes, share your feedback with us and help shape the future of siege warfare.

This Beta phase will be available until Thursday 7th August and is open to all owners of Total War: WARHAMMER III. In case you missed the blog earlier in the week where Battle Team Lead Milcho Vasilev talked us through what his team have been cooking up for it, you can get yourself up to speed right here[news.totalwar.com].

We've also started streaming again on Twitch and YouTube! If you missed our first stream last week, check out the VOD below for a closer look at some of the changes Milcho and his team have made before you take the dive yourself. (Skip through to 42:10)

The download is relatively small, but Steam will need to patch around 330 MB of game data in order to install the Hotfix. This can take some time depending on your hard drive speeds.

The gates to the Proving Grounds are ready to be thrown open once again - the Siege Rework Beta is on its way to Steam very soon for you to play and provide feedback on.

Our goal here, in simple terms, is to make sieges more fun, and you are an invaluable part of making that happen through the Proving Grounds. We want to make sure we’re making valuable, meaningful changes to the game and your feedback is crucial to us achieving this - we won’t roll out any changes to the base game until we’re totally happy with the response from you, the players!

This round of testing will last for 2 weeks from the 24th of July to the 7th of August. All the info you need to access the Beta and provide your feedback will be available in a dedicated sub-forum once the Beta is live.

Finally, we’re excited to announce that on Thursday 17th July at 2:20PM UTC/3:30PM BST/4:30PM CEST we’ll be hosting a livestream on the Total War Twitch channel[twitch.tv] where we’ll be joined by Battle Team Lead Milcho Vasilev to explore the changes included in this beta in more detail.
