Very small update today to address some connectivity issues around inviting other players to your game. We're hoping that this makes things a bit more stable but please share your feedback regardless!

Quick (and for us quite exciting) update tonight that adds support for Japanese to Crimson Hotel.

Upon launching the game players with their Steam language set to Japanese should have their game automatically translated, and you can also change your language preference from the options menu.

If there are any languages that you think we should look at including then please comment either here or in the discussions and we'll try our best.

Another update today with some changes and fixes.

• Updated engine to Unity 2019. This will help with VR functionality amongst other things.
  
• Fixed another issue causing the tall lady to get stuck in the lobby area.
  
• Added some new visual effects.
  
• Dialled down the brightness on a certain hair texture even further.
  
• Added some new audio effects.

Hi all,

A quick update today with some fixes including:

- The tall lady should no longer get stuck on certain doorways.
- The UI now displays collected keys.
- Pickups now have a very faint overlay on them to make them slightly easier to spot.
- Fixed a collision issue in the upstairs lobby.
- Added a not unrelated plaque to the upstairs lobby.
- Added a couple of new random encounters.
- Fixed a hair texture issue.

The VR branch will receive a similar update very shortly with a few more VR-specific fixes.

Hi everyone,

We have added a beta branch featuring virtual reality support and it is now open to all owners of Crimson Hotel. Please note this is highly experimental and as the title says, a test! It will be rough around the edges.

How to access the beta

You can access the beta by right clicking on Crimson Hotel in your Steam library, choosing PROPERTIES, navigating to the BETAS tab and choosing vr-testing from the dropdown.

How do I enter VR mode?

Once you are on the main menu of the beta build, hit your F1 key. This will launch the VR version.

Controls?

We're currently using a very basic form of locomotion. Movement is handled exclusively by using your trackpad(s) to move in the direction of your flashlight. Items are collected with your left hand, and doors are opened with either trigger.

Can I play with non-VR friends?

Yes!

We really, really appreciate the help testing these things and look forward to seeing any feedback about it. Please consider spreading the word to any of your VR friends, relatives, anyone really! We will be setting up a thread in the Discussions for feedback and bug reports.

Hello everyone,

A quick update today to fix a few things and introduce a few others.

• Fixed AI getting stuck in certain places
  
• Lighting changed in certain areas
  
• Fixed an issue where the drowned boy would continue moving on the stairs if in view
  
• Added short animated sequences for both victory & defeat conditions
  
• More small optimisations and changes to postprocessing

Hi all,

We've got a few fixes for some bugs that popped up today.

• The drowned boy should no longer attack you when he is frozen
  
• Various AI navigation improvements - we'll let you discover the rest :)
  
• Slight optimisations made across the level
