So, just to see if anyone agrees(Spoilers)
Roslin's motivation was, first and foremost, to cause another war, right? Like, he WANTED money, but for whatever reason(sadism or simply revenge against a world that made BEING ALIVE illegal for him), he wanted another war, and Blakemore's little idea gave him the best way to do that. It would make him wealthy too, but the war was always what he really wanted.

So...do you think he set up a dead man's switch transmitter with all the info on the Roslin project, plus the 'Evil Plan'(TM) from game one that was to fake Okkar attacks on Human interests? Because the whole reason Hawke gives to killing all those Adam's to the point of being very familiar with them was that would be what would happen if word got out he existed. So I'd have loaded that up onto a few hidden beacons in the DMZ, ready to go off if I stopped telling them not to, at random times too, so taking one out doesn't mean crud, AND you can't plan for them not to transmit in places you can get to in time.

It wouldn't be as clean as defiling a holy icon, maybe only some Okkar would want war from it, but it WOULD still fulfill his wish.

Why wait till you're dead? If that's your plan, you do it. You don't wait.

Because he'd rather cause the war while being rich enough to 'enjoy' it, either by buying the best ship and guns, or just by being able to afford to sit back and watch. This would be the backup plan.

You said that money wasn't his motivation, it was causing a war. Again, if that's what you want to do and you have a way to do it that's what you do, you don't wait to get rich, you don't wait till you die, you just do it. If you are waiting for something else to happen first then that's not your real motivation, that's your backup plan. That's just my opinion.

Just because there's a primary motivation doesn't mean you don't want other things too. And he had figured this would cause the war he wanted, no other reason for him to KEEP going after Blakemore's death. Like I said, the plan seems to have been use this to make the money, while knowing it's going to cause a war, so he can watch it all happen, just because he wants it. If he doesn't have the money, that's fine, but he'd rather have both.
As far as i gathered, the reason they saw a new war as acceptable is that if it broke out, the rest of humanity would be too busy fighting the Okkar, which means Blakemore (or Roslin) could basically assume autonomous control over most of the human-controlled DMZ, and basically turn their division of G&B into their own government. its not necessarily that he WANTED war cause its fun, its more that its just the most convenient route to getting what they want

and btw, and the Reason all Roslin clones were on a kill list, was cause clone pilots was against the peace treaty, and anyone caught harbouring a clone would also be in violation, like the Bloodstar base when his profile got broadcasted, which made Hawke come to deal with it. that is also why the Okkar were hostile to you in ES1, since you flew a (illegal) Colonial fighter, which came from a Clone Carrier. compared to ES2 where you just fly a common combat ship, so the Okkar have no reason to attack on sight.
