Hi! I have the same issue. Did you perhaps figure out what is going on?

The game doesn't work for me either. I have seen other threads where it says to change something on the PC itself. Honestly? No! I bought the game 1 year ago and haven't gotten around to testing it yet! And now I'm sitting here feeling screwed because I spent money and the game just doesn't work!

Same issue. The game will not even open. Anyone fix it?

Try this.
I had to use this for Call of Cthulu and it somehow fixed this game. This was last year.
Change the variable.

I believe I may have found a slightly simpler solution, although I'm not sure it'll work for everyone, including for those who aren't using Windows and/or Steam.

Copy and Paste: cmd /c "set OPENSSL_ia32cap=:~0x20000000 && %command%" into the game's set launch options menu on properties. Make sure to get rid of the command tab after launch.

That's what the link I posted said to do. As I stated. It also fixed another game that wouldn't run.
I didn't do this though in the launch options.
