I’m disappointed to leave a negative review, but I didn’t enjoy this game as much as I’d hoped. The puzzles were annoying (even frustrating) and the endings felt unsatisfying. While the story had intriguing elements that kept me expecting more, it didn’t quite deliver. The only thing that kept me playing was my curiosity and the art style.

ALSO, I hate the fact that I can't befriend the children and the cat in the same playthrough, especially since they each have separate achievements. The game’s choices mainly revolve around this, so replaying it doesn’t offer much in terms of new experiences. Additionally, the "best friend" choice only affects one single scene with no significant change on the game or the storyline....

i kind of wish you spend more times in the woods, instead of doing tasks in the town that didn't really feel like they were story-relevant. especially the first two chapters are just kinda slow like that.
i also didn't really care for Lucys family much? i disliked her father and her mother didn't have much of personality except that she enjoyed singing/making music with Lucy. the minigames were mostly annoying and not my cup of tea.

i did like the whole set-up tho. secluded town in the middle of woods infested by monsters, eager to hunt down the villagers at night. i feel like it had a lot of potential. and the endings were mostly bittersweet to hopeful! i kind of wish you had a manual save file you could reload right before choosing one of the endings instead of having to replay the whole of chapter five to see one of the other endings...

anyway i wish steam had a neutral option for recommendations because i personally find this game a bit too lacking gameplay-wise, and also full of untapped potential story-wise to really recommend it. but if someon is into puzzle games with a small sprinkle of spooky story, then i wouldn't discourage you from picking this up.

Ugh. This is a cautious recommend. It's an interesting story and the artwork is gorgeous, but it's flawed. The puzzles at first are kind of neat, but as the game goes on, they become extremely tedious. There are 4 endings, but there is no way I could go through all of it again. If you want the best ending, make sure you don't miss anything (I did). Speaking of endings - it's a little lackluster and doesn't quite pay off in the way I'd hoped. So many questions... Still, not a bad game. Runs well on deck and not very demanding on battery life.
