Does activities continue on the "other" island?
If someone has either Farms or Mines running on Bastion Island and they relocate to Volcalidus, do the Farm and Mines on Bastion keep working or not?!? My suspicion is not, because the Island are independent of each other, but I'd like to be certain.

I haven't tested it, but most likely not, as it is a separate map with its own resources. Trying to calculate both would put a pretty heavy strain on the system, especially with hundreds/thousands of bouncing entities all over the place.

True. My Volcalidus Save is a new Save from when the DLC came out. I have NOTHING on Bastion Island, so I couldn't test it. It makes sense that they're so separated...

No they are not. Main game and dlc are separate save files.

Yeah I was seriously bummed to learn that farm crops do not progress while I'm on Volcalidus, seems like a serious oversight.

They are two completely different executables and two completely different Save Files. The Ferry is the link, but nothing on eaither island affects to other island. Nothing can travel between them (can't take anything by boat). So whichever Island you happen to be on, that is active while the other is in suspension.

At least your crops won't rot while your'e gone for all those days on Volcalidus :)

I mean sure, except that from a user perspective and modern gameplay perspective it is neither obvious nor expected that time doesn't pass on both ends, it seems silly from a software engineering perspective as well. Somewhat par for the course with some of the choices that have been made thus far.

Just imagine what would happen if a Mine was left running on the "other" island and a Jam occurred...

Part of the fun, eh? 😂😭

I guess it could happen just the same at a dig site that you leave going for hours while at another one on the map. Same diff to me I guess.

To be clear, don't mean to imply throwing any shade. Just kinda disappoint that it doesn't continue.

The issue with having Bastion Island running while on Volcalidus Island is that getting back would be a complete F-up. It might even screw up operations on Volcalidus if the system were to go to crap because of a jam on Bastion. The transition to get back to attempt to fix things would be impossible...
