I am happy to announce a bunch of new content and QOL changes coming to Arcadius on July 28th and as well as future content coming at the end of August!




With this upcoming update players will now be able to play on private servers there are 2 options, Friends only & Private. Friends only will allow you to invite friends via steam to your own instance of the game. Private is essentially single player where no one can bother you.

*Active Internet connection still required.


There are now 3 factions in the game Logger, Miner & Fisher faction. Selling specific items to these factions will reward Exp towards your faction level. An increased level in a faction will yield account-wide bonuses for the said faction. Factions will also play an important role in upcoming updates.


As an indie developer, the most important thing to me is community say. There are now polling booths around the island of Arcadius, Where players can vote on future content updates, changes, and adjustments to the game. Players can only vote once per account per poll. But they will receive in-game gold for casting their vote. You will be able to see in real-time what the community wants or doesn't want.



You will now see what's new & what was changed when you log into a new update for the first time.

Hello Arcadians,

This is just a post regarding an upcoming update which is set to release on April 28th, 2022. Users who are not in discord may not be aware that a big update is just on the horizon. This new update brings in the new skill of alchemy, Converts smelting & Gathering into skills. It will introduce a new map that is more open and expansive with new features such as Day & Night cycles, Weather patterns & Biomes.




Arcadius will be getting a new map. This map is much larger in scale and will allow for more exploration with friends as well as plenty of space for future content. The map will contain all new points of interest, settlements, mountains, and caves.


We are continuously working on making Arcadius more visually appealing, In this update lighting is much more vibrant and reactive. There are also weather zones & new biomes.


Many players have mentioned that gathering itself should be a skill. This is why with the introduction of Alchemy we have expanded the gathering gameplay to include the following

• New Tools (Sickles)
  
• 15 New Gatherables
  
• Dedicated Level Up System

To gather flax, mushrooms, and other harvestable items the user will now need to use a new tool "Sickle". Using this tool the users will be able to gather these items at a faster and more efficient pace.


This update introduces Arcadius first new skill "Alchemy" Which will see players brewing potions at the new brewing station, to help them in their adventures. It will require players to be on the lookout and explore the different biomes to find ingredients.

Alchemy is a simple skill, Players can brew potions using ingredients at the brew station. The brew station will require Fuel & Water as a power source. Any player can brew any potion but your success rate is dependent on your level in relation to that potion. Failing a brew will give you a spoiled potion which is useless. The alchemy minigame sees the player shaking and rotating the flask to mix the materials.


We want to provide the players with an easy-to-read simplistic User interface. That is why during this update we are going to start rolling out a brand new UI.


Once players update their games they will be required to set up a unique username. for the time being, this username can not be changed.


The world of Arcadius is slowly getting bigger & better. Players will not experience both Night time & Day Time in-game, They will also see foggy wastelands & snow-covered mountains. This update is laying down the foundation for more in-depth content.


Player experience is important to us. Sadly because the game is Free 2 Play there are a lot of bad eggs seeping through hoping to ruin the experience for other players. This update brings in new banning capabilities for both Gameplay, chat & Ranking. As well as a better in-game reporting system.


Once this update is released I will be primarily focused on polishing existing content, refining existing skills & Improving the overall quality of the game (Animations, Models, Audio, etc..) A big rework of the chat is coming as well. It will introduce a more MMO-like chat feeling with things like Area chat, Global chat & Direct Messaging between users.

I'll be using community polls and feedback to make sure I create the best possible playing experience for this community. All comments are read & taking into consideration.

Hello Arcadians,

Over the last 2 weeks, we have been quite busy. We are now 50,000 users strong and we can not be prouder. Since launch, we have received countless suggestions & feedback from our community. We have come up with a roadmap that we feel you will be quite happy about & fits our vision for the future.



Coming late spring will be the first major update of arcadius. It will be centered around Player-owned islands and expand the creative minds of players.

• Create your custom island shape with a custom island builder tool.
  
• Cultivate land on your new island to Grow & Harvest crops on.
  
• Mix ingredients & brew different types of potions.
  
• Build structures (Houses, Fences, etc..)
  
• New tools for farming, alchemy, Mining, Woodcutting, Fishing

Summer will focus on playing together by joining guilds or performing archeology tasks together.

• Create your guild and recruit friends
  
• Scavenge the islands for hidden secrets using tools, clues, and maps
  
• Complete daily quests for various rewards
  
• Show off cute new pets
  
• New tools for farming, alchemy, Mining, Woodcutting, Fishing & Archeology

Fall will be the last update of the year focusing on an open exploration experience and improving player interactions

Although this seems like a lot of content there are some additional features we are working on which will be added in no particular order when they are ready.

As of Thursday, March 10th weekly updates will mainly be bug fixes and quality of life improvements. This Thursday update will include

We understand players can be frustrated by abusive people and cheaters in the game. We are actively working on anti-cheat measures to improve the gameplay experience.


During the month of March, the map will be getting a whole new design bringing in 5 new islands. Stay tuned for updates.

Hello Arcadians,

So far over the launch this weekend we have accumulated 10,000 registered players, Which is just awesome! We wanted to take this time to talk about the events over the weekend, Known Bugs & quality of life changes we are currently working on. With a patch coming out later this week.


Although most players are understandable and abide by the rules some like to ruin the experience for others. We have had people abuse an exploit related to in-game chat that allowed players to use the special Dev tag and impersonate developers in-game. Some reviews reflect this.

Now on to some fun stuff!



• Some achievements are bugged
• fix players being invisible upon leaving & rejoining a lobby
• shift-clicking an item in the blacksmith UI puts that item into the furnace
• When trying to join a full lobby you get stuck at the joining UI


• Adding Demonic ore to Mount Magma
• Improving the tutorial to include more information
• Private lobbies & Search for lobby options
• When a lobby is full it will state that & you will not be able to join
• Adding mute & report players to chat.
• More detailed error codes for lobby
• Adding the ability to cancel joining a lobby / creating a world


We are going to be removing the level cap. We see so many players that love the grind and who are we to say they cant push the boundaries further.


We plan on introducing these changes later this week, changes are not exhaustive, we may add more to this patch as we see fit.

Arcadius is now live in early access ! There is not much to say except thank you to the community that helped make this possible through all the play tests.


Remember that this is only the beginning we plan on adding more content and features through out next year of early access. We will be release a detail roadmap on our plans soon.


Going forward our priority for the next 60 days of launch is to monitor and fix bugs as they are reported. Ascension / rebirthing will be available to players in 30 days.
