Siege of Irdor is a city-builder strategy game set in dark medieval times, where fantasy and reality collide. Build by day and defend the sieges by night to survive against the armies of darkness.

We are entering the advanced production stage. We have a lot to show from Siege of Irdor. Starting today, every 3 weeks we will drop a new devlog about mechanics, story, gameplay, and this little precious thing that makes this game unique. Just keep in mind materials presented here come from early stage of production and can differ in the final game.

COMBAT SYSTEM

As you have probably seen, Siege of Irdor is a Real-Time Strategy/City Builder/Tower Defence mix. You have to defend your kingdom - Irdord, but you can fight outside the walls if you think your army is strong enough.

Your units as enemies use 3 sorts of weapons.

Melee weapons. Swords, pikes, axes... fists, and more

Every strategy fan must know the pleasure of using archers. We don't want to disappoint ranged weapons fans. You will be able to "shoot" a lot here.

If you are looking for a "big boom" effect siege weaponry should be your first choice... and magic (but that we will cover a bit later).

Siege of Irdor is a game where it's easy to start (casual and relaxing gameplay) and hard to master (good management and tactics). This strategy will contain a lot of "good strategy must-haves"

Like FORMATIONS, but that will be covered in the next devlog. Stay tuned for more extra content.

Greetings Defenders!

Now, as we know, what terrors came from beyond Portal, it's time to meet brave warriors of the Irdor.

The entire industry of the City has one purpose - to keep those guys well fed and equipped, ready for the Night.

Every Irdor's unit has its counterpart in the Shadows army, but we ensured they had their strengths and weaknesses.
Let us take an Archers:

He is better equipped than rag wearing archers of Shadows for the first sight, and they also have better range and more devastating shots. Human archers are pretty expensive to keep, though, and most of the time, you will find shadows outnumbering you by a lot.

Archers can be further upgraded while shadows don't seem to have high esteem for ranged combat (they prefer to flood the enemy with a backup of magic and arcane infused walking war machines like Taran).

We will discuss all those units separately in future Devlogs.
Also, a little announcement:
Future Devlogs will be written as a Shadows Point of View story of the first conquer.
It will be not a part of the game as the in-game story is happening hundreds of years later, but it will be the part of the Lore and will give us a little insight into the enemy :)

If the game is changed to RTS, it will become a garbage without characteristics

Now there are too many RTs. If the game is changed to RTS, it will lose all its features and become a garbage. So you have to take the first person battlefield command and action elements as the highlights of the game, which is the key to the best-selling game....
