me, no; I'm too darn busy trying to finish BG3:steamhappy:
Actually not so much right away because the game will need a mod and user created campaigns to really shine... which take time. I'm sure it'll be awesome eventually, just not right at launch.

It will come with its own campaign

I believe Solasta II will use Unreal Engine 5, which I understand isn't nearly as mod friendly as the Unity engine. Any modders have an opinion on this?
It comes down to what sort of modding support the game ships with. If there is a dungeon builder, and a monster builder, and an adventure scripting tools, Modders will push out good modules, albiet the scenery might be a bit samey. Then some clever modders will work out how to import assets or even craft their own, but that will be much less common and consistent.

Stuff like new classes and abilities will again depend on the game transparency, and special effects for these will be mostly recycled, but a limited amount of 'new' stuff might be adapted.

Still - it remains to be seen how easy or hard any of this will be.

If you really want to know, I'd suggest starting by learning to mod some of your favourite moddable games, to get a feel for the work involved.

I enjoyed S1 more than BG3, perhaps we're both weird
I am wary of the move to unreal but still looking forward to Solasta 2

It's not weird. I'm looking forward to it enough that I've wishlisted the game, and will probably buy it and play it at launch instead of waiting for a sale.

Yeah, but the Crown of the Magister campaign was not terribly impressive. The combat was *far* too easy, the SRD restrictions straightjacket group/character building, and it's relentlessly obsessed with verticality (and not in a good way).

It's highly likely that the "main" campaign in the sequel will have these same issues, so for a player like me, it's probably best to wait at least 6-12 months after actual release.
For those that are confused as to what the "new game" is. . .

I am hoping that a demo is released during the next Steam Next Fest -- which starts on February 24th (2025).

You're so freaking weird!! How dare you look forward to a new release of a good game, so strange!! /Sarcasm OFF

I'm not in a rush. They said no workshop at launch, and that's basically what Solasta does best, so may as well wait and see. Too many devs have promised workshop and mod tools the last few years, then bait-and-switched on it later.

Just for laughs I asked a search engine, "how many devs have promised workshop and mod tools the last few years, then bait-and-switched on it"
here were no lists, no info, so is your comment anecdotal, or do you have any data, because your point may be valid, but needs validation to prove. I agree with you, but it's just a feeling, so examples would help. [Hawken comes to mind]
