I just reloaded after about 2 years off and I must say, it still scratches that itch and also seems a little "less grindy" tbh
Updated builds you can find on YouTube - just search "Aragon" and his channel has a build for each class (including healers/tanks/dps).
I find the game enjoyable even if there is grind (like all other mmo's), the combat is something different.
You can buy Zen if you want to advance faster but this is up to you (personally I don't think it is necessary).
From Zero to Max Item Level & Total Cost! - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5HeoD9vejk&t=779s
Well, i'd say catching-up has been made a lot easier, after the release of a new module there's a time period where you can jump right into the most recent content without any Itemlevel restrictions, your IL is just "buffed" to a certain amount if needed, and i think you can continue playing in there even when that period has ended.
So, you don't have to rush through the latest module, just get into the new content and then continue playing when you want to.
There's also a more recent video from Aragon regarding Healers and how to gear those up from start to "finish".
Head to Flame Mount.(newest area) as soon as possible to get better gears and that area is the most active one with many players. You item level don't really matter. You can easily do other older campaigns later much more easy once you get better gears. There are many killing trains for commanders and heroic events, you can just join or follow them and let them do the combats while you stay safe at a distance, all you have to do is make some range hits or healings which your cleric manage easily.
The only thing worth buying is the VIP, you get a free key daily for lockboxes and it depend on your luck to get something useful.
