I have to ask... Why does Night City not have any street cleaners?
Seriously, trash is freaking EVERYWHERE! Do they just not have anyone on their staff to clean up all the garbage to make the city less littered? Even the corpo plaza's got a bunch of garbage everywheres! They need to clean up the city streets, literally!

In big dystopian cities it can easily happen, you can find it already in some certain cities irl.

But what bother me more is that literally ALL people in NC dont clean their own appartment, i mean wtf? You can basically just throw the garbage out of the window, why they let it laying around everywhere in their own appartment? Makes no sense at all.

Cyberpunk reflects a hyper-consumerist society which is producing and consuming so much that waste is literally everywhere. To a degree this is already happening in real life in many major cities and to a lesser extent in many rural places that get lots of traffic too.

Hence why there is literally trash everywhere. No one's picking it up presumably because all the landfills are full and there's literally nowhere to put it all.

Dexter's ass.
There's a city cleaning depot (with trucks/etc) somewhere Downtown. Went there for a gig once.

Makes you wonder.
So as a fan of the Cyber verse here we go.

Human Devolution: On demand has made humanity ultimately lazy, there is a robot and an implant for almost everything, this coupled with a corpo state (no government) that wont do anything unless its profitable makes for a society that dosent see waste as "bad" but an every day part of life. for many people the waste provides the stuff they need to survive every day, scavenging is a big business for lower class gonks.

Corpo Wars: The Municipality including cleaning is all corpo owned. Night city has no formal government and is instead run by corporations. As waste has such small margins of profit on it the corps actually try to give the task of cleaning to all other corps to hinder their operations. This means no corp really wants to run a street cleaning facility. so its mega underfunded.

Control of Money and population: The next reason that no corp will ever clean the streets is again money. The dirt of the lower levels make it extremely profitable to build highrises and sell them to the rich at a premium for being away from the "filth" on the floor. Some VIPs will never go to street level, instead going from high rise to highrise via AV. You will notice near the luxary appartments there is almost no litter what so ever. This is because the building owers pay to keep it clean, again small margins for the corp involved.

Lack of space: The reason that its now so expensive to get rid of waste is that night city has no space to store it any more, the dam processing plant has been shut since the town of Laguna was flooded and all the workers left. This means night city actually exports rubbish now to places like Texas and Brazil. Massively increasing the cost of dealing with waste.

The final twist: There have been a few logs that have suggested that Arasaka Corp have been in talks with another corp in NY who want to export there Rubbish, Araskaa suggested that night city "has the space for such processing". From this we can gleam that new york has a similar problem to Night City with waste and that arasaka is perfectly prepared to bury night city in waste to achieve their goals.

anyway there are more reasons but this should serfice :P
I have seen quite a few street cleaner vehicles, but only ever seen them moving during one of the races with Claire.
I live in a small to medium sized city in Germany and even in such a place, trash is everywhere. One can see it getting worse every year.

Look, a lot people lives in "high" condition, so, in my opinion its make sense. Simply iam enough lot see "high" people houses, in game we see yet very very light homes versions, as it is irl.

Depends on where you live in the Night City, where there is poverty and more gang activity than the police can handle, the district will reflect it. The corporates don't give a ♥♥♥♥ if people live in filth as long as their areas looks nice and it does look very nice and clean.

When looking at a certain piece of junk in the game I always imagine the artist(s) that have carefully placed it exactly there...
Thank you amazing NC architects!

:steamlaughcry: It's a tough job, but someone's gotta do it.
It's prob both being lazy due all the infrastructure and technology all around them, which also creates waste, as people basically rely on technology solely. There's nothing they will do on their own, unless you are living in a poverty, but that is not the group of people creating those wastes. There's no enough space to put them all.
Kinda like the cities in the real world right now, run into the ground cesspools.
