I'm thinking about what the dialog in this is like. Is it real time, or am I able to pause?

Is it like text on the screen like Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic or something?

I was thinking about trying to play it in a foreign language I'm not so familiar with, so I'm wondering how fast-paced the dialog is and if I could do anything to pace it a bit more for a language beginner, like pausing the game, or if the dialog waits a lot for player-input or something to proceed, or if it's more like cinematic cutscenes type of thing...
