Is there a lore reason to so many guard\warrior females?
I made it to act 3 and I begin to find strange so many women as guards, warriors, criminals or anything fighter oriented, like, literally 9/10 of body count is women, so is there a lore explanation to this few men warriors?
They died fighting?
Or the Flaming Fist is like the Amazonas creed, only women allowed?

The previous Baldur Gate were like this too? I didn't played and I am not very knowledgeable about it the lore

EDIT: Funny thing see the thread resurrected, and since it is I gonna post my conclusion about it my question.

Larian wished to populated the world with more female warriors\bosses\fighters and that is, no other reason, the problem is the ratio since isnt proportional between females and males.

The funny thing is, I am playing Skyrim now and there is a lot of female warriors, but it have a proportional ratio of distribution, there is both male and female for all roles so it isnt biased like BG3 which is un balanced to the point of being weird, and there isnt any explanation to this besides Larian biased view.

Skyrim did better this representation without being weird since 2011.

It wouldn’t make sense in our world, but in Faerûn it does.

On my game is almost 50/50% male and female. The only difference is that, in fact, most interactable Flaming Fists and up rankeed are female, that's, afaik, true.

Maybe it is misandry?

Why must there be a "lore" reason for women to exist in roles in a game world? I joined the army back in the 90s. Half my boot camp unit was women.

I really wish the drill sergeants would have provided us with some "lore" on that. I've been mad for almost 30 years.

It is reasonable to ask why Faerûn differs from our world. Certainly having an excessive number of females in combat roles wouldn’t fly in our world. So why does it work in Faerûn? That’s a reasonable question. Maybe you can enlighten the OP and others why?

So, let's consider two points.

1. I get there is something called "humans" on Faerun. But this is a serious question. Are we certain they are biologically the same as "humans" on Earth? For example, would the sexual dimorphism be exactly the same? Why so? They can obviously do things humans on Earth can't do, like mate with different species (elves and orcs), and use magic.

2. There are many sources of STR from magical and divine sources. How do we know female recruits into the Flaming FIst aren't all issued Gauntlets of Ogre Strength? Etc.? In a fantasy world, there are a lot of forces, magical/divine, that could otherwise change things up in terms of male & female differences.

Nope, never was like that. BG1 and BG2 were both very immersive and felt like a true medieval experience.

BG3 is simply a reflection of modern USA culture and politics. Same reason why there are suddenly so many LGBTQ+ characters present with many forced interactions. The best way is to simply mod the game to remove these lore errors and zero-value filler "content".

There are a few good lore-friendly mods:

1) No Alphabets
2) Better Aesthetics
3) No Romance (if you don't want forced sexual stuff non-stop)

And some others.

There is absolutely no value in the woke stuff Larian added. It is mostly poorly written, annoying, and low quality anyway, so if you remove it - nothing is truly lost.

The lore reason is the Flaming Fist is a mercenary company and will accept anyone willing and able.

I once had similar impression. Eventually I found out that was just an impression due to the fact that males and females cannot be easily distinguished by their appearances. Steel Watchers may look like a female with actually a female voice - but are they female? no.

After killed over 100 guards + 3 dozen steel watchers, I found out that every guard can be either a male or a female or are just too hard to tell.

Did you know that female police officers exist in our world? And we don't have as many universal equalizers as the Forgotten Realms that would remove the barriers to entry for the profession.
