Move animals or move base
I'm playing build 42 in rosewood. My base is one of the two houses somewhat hidden behind the trees at the bottom corner of Rosewood before you get to the farms. I've been in that base for over two months and finally getting some crops harvested. As it's build 42 I also wanna try out holding animals. I found a nice farm with pigs and chickens to the east, beyond the construction site. It's by itself not a bad location but I put a lot of work in my current base.

Now I was wondering if it's best to cut down trees around my base, create a place for the animals there and then guide them one by one all the way over there or is it better just to move my base over to the farm?

I also wonder if the part you use for animals will eventually get completely overgrown with shrubs and trees that I'd have to cut down again and again.
Also to breed and not overbreed your animals do you just put the males in a separate pen if you have enough and then move them over to the females if you need to breed more?
Also should I first make a huge stockpile of animal feed to prevent them to starve to death or is that not an issue?

You can leave them in spawn place i know where it, just be sure they have water, when have time cut some grass for them and it's all what they need, also chikens somewhere close, two males fight to death in one enclosure, you dont need huge stockpile feed for them, for example i make my base in gas station and use one farm higher it has very big two pastures with shelters for animals and i keep all my animals here, alot, animals also need shelter for bad weather days, also big animals like cows need more space, damn here we go, all what you need to know here, check when have time : Quick n' Dirty Guide to Ranching in the Apocalypse, it's reddit, realyy good one

Thanks I'll check that out!
if you wanna move them to your base you can use an animal trailer and move them to your base after you build an enclosure for them. no need to move them on foot on a leash one by one, as long as you find one of them.
