i need them long sticks dawg

im dyin out here man, i need them long sticks i need spears, can you get these from chopping down trees or converting planks into them? all i can see from crafting them is from taking apart a mop, i've only been able to find some in tool sheds, i searched and saw some people said foraging, i like foraging so i will try that more but i havent gotten any, do you have to set it to firewood preference or something?

Cut down trees, get Saplings, carve Saplings to Long Sticks.

or search with forage mode in forests, they are pretty common

Yah just cut down trees. After building a wood wall around my base I'm left with probably 200 saplings lying around. That's enough spears to hold me over until the next apocalypse.

Okay, didn't know that you could make spears from saplings but it makes sense. To contribute to your quest for long sticks, you just need a knife, some planks, elbow grease, and a pinch of rage from knowing that you will be breaking all of them in the course of a few weeks. (depending on what you do, your characters spear and mentince levels, and how inaccurate your strikes are for that one-hit KO)

Oh yeah one more thing this may be a mod that I didn't realize that lets you make spears from planks, but it shouldn't be because all my mods don't have any any descriptions saying that planks can be converted to spears

Sounds like a mod. As of today, in B42.2.0 Unstable I still cannot craft a spear from a plank. I still need long sticks sourced from foraging or saplings.
