Idea! Street names in cities.
Why don't our streets have names? What do you think about the idea of adding street names in Build 42? Street names could be read from found maps and signposts at intersections. Administrative buildings could also provide the street name and house number of their location.

It could wait until b43
and the map doesn't show where we are standing, we have to manually identify where we are. it's cool like the map on Kcd
Cool concept, but it is one of those "nice to have, but unnecessary" cosmetic changes.
I like that
I really like this idea.
we need it. pleas e
We are waiting for the developers' reaction, the mechanics will not take much time, I want to make history with this proposal =)
Would be cool for certain areas that are nostalgic roads to have them

Someone pointed out on blog one of the BEST NEIGHBORHOODS ever in riverside has a rd name in house realestate flier ..flyer .. flyher? lol .. very happy with that
The idea of adding addresses to maps would fit perfectly into the game's atmosphere, as it opens up opportunities for new mechanics and increases realism. For example, mailboxes could contain correspondence linked to specific locations. This could include DVDs sent from a video rental store, which players could find by following the address on the packaging. Such an approach would not only encourage players to explore the world but also add depth to the gameplay. It also creates potential for engaging mini-quests: mysterious letters, strange parcels, or even crucial clues left by other survivors.
i got you i will name every street and give every house a address then submit it on the art work page
Feels like more than cosmetic to me. Could help with navigation, and even though role play isn't my scene (dungeons and dragons was awesome in high school however) it would absolutely elevate that. What is a good suggestion even doing here, these are supposed to be forums for complaining about how long updates take and demanding strangers fix your game after installing 30,000 mods?! ;)

I agree, I want more threads talking how the game sucks in some way, even though they use a bunch of mods, even if they are QoL mods. Or more threads about how when people die it is never their fault and the game always glitched in someway to make it not fair. Or my personal favourite I want more threads throwing out a bunch of napkin math talking about how the developers have obviously made 100billion dollars on this game so far and so it is ridiculous that the game isn't done being developed yet.

Your good ideas that are low effort, make sense and that actually improve the playing experience aren't welcome here!

(seriously though OP good idea I like it)

To add to this, I can't be the only one that would envision myself looking at my map at night in my safehouse and saying to myself:

"okay, I made it half way to 24th street... if I get out of the house first thing tomorrow morning I can push my way to 24th, then head as far north on Stafford Drive as I can. With any luck I might be able to see the warehouse on 18th street by the next evening!"
I watched my friend's stream one day.

Saw them driving on a 2 lane road, with a metal fence about 5 tiles away. Could also see through some trees into the back yards of several houses. Caught a glimpse of a red shed.

Immediately identified they were just outside the Riverside Country Club's little 1 street suburb.

Who needs street signs when you got an attention to detail?

If you can't remember landmarks, you're not going to remember street names either.

Who needs street signs? No said we needed street signs. We are saying we want them and they are cosmetic/low effort/not a rush.

Fail.

I’ve explored only 7% of the map, and I’d be really interested in finding a flyer advertising a mansion for sale at 24 Avenue or learning about a factory from a letter someone received in their mailbox. I don’t memorize locations in games, but I navigate real-life areas very well.
Tell me, how many times have you seen a city map without street names?
It useful for us all because we can describe a location with a relevant street name.
So that we can describe a place without linking the map. and those who are familiar can know the place u are talking about.

such as Moonshine Crescent

and so if you know u know if u dont u don't.
i would say it is useful for many things and would prove useful for potential future systems aswel. Navigational purposes. Driving purposes. for an AI controlled vehicle for example.
