Saves are saved in MyDocuments/EarthX. If no files are created, it means that your antivirus probably blocks EarthX from doing so. Try to add an exception to your antivirus, it should work then.

Another solution might be something with folders? Try to delete the EarthX folder from MyDocuments, the game will then create new ones. Obv try the first solution first

did you click to 'save game' before exiting last time? i think the buttons are only small and in the middle-left of screen, i didn't see them straight away so i refer to that (not having a pop at you)
