A game that's faithful to the source material, has 3 distinct campaigns, each with unique gameplay elements: the marines campaign is the most horror-themed, as you are pretty weak compared to the xenos or the predators, you'll have some flashlights, and motion trackers, but the gameplay is a good old-fashioned FPS, not real gimmicks ; while playing as the predator you'll have different gadgets at your disposal like the thermal scanner, the shoulder-mounted cannon, or the retractable wristblades, plus the classic camouflage cloak, but you'll have to rely on tactics and stealth as the aliens can be a pain in the ass if they catch you (even marines in a large number can be a hassle); and finally, as the alien, you'll be able to climb walls, blend-in with the shadows and use stealth kills, lunge on enemies and even infect hosts with the aid of facehuggers. The game's pretty gory, with a lot of graphic executions; graphically speaking, the game still looks acceptable, but I really hate the piss filter, as the game has a yellow tint and makes everything look uglier/muddier. Also, the campaigns are not very long, but they are a bit connected (some story elements from one campaign will appear in another campaign, so there's a little bit of continuity).

Overall, AvP™ is decent, if a bit underbaked; not as good as the original AvP or even AvP2, but can be enjoyable for a couple of hours.

This is considered old school by todays standards
however this game still holds its ground as one of the best alien games to date
