Just replace files and game will work. Some people report that they restart steam and game launched.

yh i did this but its useless the game just crashes when you reach a certain point or kill someone. its a bit off but yh, tell me if it still works for you.

You use files not from guide.

Used the files from that link and followed the guide. Finally I was able to make it past the marine tutorial. Crashes from time to time, but at least I can play haha. Thanks.

in this guide they are mentioning a zip file.
1. download the zip and open it.
2. drag those into the game files and confirm the replacing of those 3 files.
3. right click and go to "properties" then "compatibility"
4. turn on compatibility mode with windows 7 selected in there and click on the box that says "run this game as administrator" (do this to all 3 of them)
5. open the AvP launcher from within the game files once

from then on you should be able to open the game from within steam and without any crashes caused by the game itself

The only way this game can be fixed is if someone mods a fix.

Maybe its just time for a new Aliens vs Predator game? I think its the same thing like Hitman: Absolution. It was 100% singleplayer game but after the server shut down, nothing works.

i did not have that issue so far, that is either a compatibility issue or something wrong on your part.

this same thing that happened with space marine anniversary edition couple hours later steam sorted it out and it launched but yeah i cant get it to launch either.

The virus total result shows sus IP activity of the "fix". I would not trust it.

people keep complaining about the crashes but they forget that this game is 15 years old, must be something else because mine is running smooth and without any bug/crash, i even played the multiplayer with some guys, but i remember that when i played that game for the first time i had some issues with some directx version (i don't remember which version it was, but changed it helped).

Promoting this fix gets steam off the hook and puts everyone's PC at risk.
