Considering all the benefits of SLAM tracking, base station tracking is still predominant. It's more reliant (not so much dependent on software implementation) and has some advantages over inside out (compatibility with sim rigs, room lighting, etc). You can enter any VR related subreddit and occasionally see people asking and requesting base stations. Specifically Valve base stations. There are still Vive base stations but they are way overpriced considering the price and what's included in the package (...

So I was checking to see if they were in stock but sadly it wasn't, but when look up I saw that I can put the base stations in my cart. But... now I can't go through the purchase process. Is this a glitch?

Anyone have any idea when they'll be restocking this in the steam store, or should I just wait and hope the Index 2 comes out soon?

When will basestations be available? STEAM support doesn't say anything, they don't care. How long does it take to stock? Weeks? Months? Years? Centuries?

When will valve open op the orders for base stations v2 ? I have an index which i bought without to use the older htc base stations.. it works but my room is a tad on the large side that tracking can become spotty.. i'd like to place a pre order for 2x v2 base stations...
